IV Nutrient Therapy
This technique consists of introducing intravenous vitamins, minerals and amino acids into a patient’s vein to help support the immune system and proper cell function. This method of utilizing vitamins is more effective than taking them orally. Intravenous administration directly targets cells because it bypasses the digestive tract which can be imbalanced and have poor absorption. Using IV nutrients allows Dr. Cavin to bypass the problem of poor absorption, correct vitamin deficiencies and when paired with other naturopathic therapies get patients feeling better more quickly.
IV nutrient therapy supports the following conditions and many others: Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Cancer, Asthma, Autoimmune Disease, IBS, PMS, Infections of a Bacterial, Viral, or Fungal origin, Hypertension, Heart Disease and Macular Degeneration.
IV nutrients are given in doses where the vitamins and other nutrients are used as medicine, not just to provide you with the recommended daily allowances for vitamins. Because your body is familiar with vitamins, minerals and amino acids it readily uses them to help it heal. IV nutrients do not have the multitude of side effects that are associated with taking medications.
IV therapy is also often just easier than doing oral supplementation. For example, in a patient who has a zinc deficiency, it is often very hard to treat this with oral supplementation—enough zinc cannot be taken orally to correct the problem. Thus, doing regular IV infusions with zinc allows the deficiency to be corrected. Another example is that vitamin C can be given in far higher and more therapeutic doses intravenously than orally. High doses of oral vitamin C cause digestive system upset. This is not the case with IV Vitamin C.
